Lars Magne Nonås is a Senior Research Scientist at SINTEF Ocean department of Energy and transport, group of Maritime Transport. He holds a MSc in Optimization from the Department of Informatics, University of Bergen (2002), and gained his PhD in Operational Research at Department of Finance and Management Science, Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). Lars Magne Nonås has been employed at SINTEF Ocean since 2007 and has 13 years of applied research experience within maritime transportation and logistics problems (shipping, O&G and offshore wind), and 11 years within offshore wind for the entire life cycle (installation, O&M and decommissioning). His research interests and expertise include mathematical programming, optimization and operational research. This academic background has been applied to real life industry problems within the maritime   transportation and logistics segment through his work at SINTEF Ocean. A major focus of his work has been to develop decision support models for complex problems that are beyond the human capacity to solve on their own. Nonås has been leading several offshore wind initiatives such as FAROFF (Project leader, 2012-2014), LEANWIND (EU WP leader Integrated Logistics, 2013-2017), COSMO (Project leader, 2018-2019), INSTALLER (Project leader, 2018-2020) and i4Offshore (EU WP leader Offshore logistics and Installation, 2018-2023).
