Jan van Egmond started, after more than 10 years working in other indirect offshore linked business, in 2001 at Heerema Marine Contractors. In these early years he was involved in the development and conversion of the installation vessel Balder into a deep water pipelay and construction vessel. After the Balder conversion he was also responsible in the conversion of the Thialf towards a temporary pipelay vessel. In 2008 he made a carrier change towards the sales department in Heerema. In these early days Oil & Gas, Renewable and Decommissiong sales activities were the daily activities. Listening to clients and the change in the market has inspired him to bring new services into the market, such as the QUAD lift and new ways of WTG installations by floating vessels. Today Jan is heading the sales department of the Renewable business line in Heerema. That business line started in mid-2018 and in the first 1.5 year the strategic goals were all achieved. The main successes for this new department are the Vineyard project in the USA for COP, the Greater Changhua project in Taiwan for Orsted and Arcadis Ost 1 in the Baltic Sea for Parkwind.
