35 years of offshore wind in 35 seconds
This Windpower Monthly graphic shows the diversification of the wind industry. From a sector that was traditionally European dominated, by 2025 markets like the US, China and Taiwan are among the biggest markets.
It also highlights the acceleration of the offshore wind sector. From slow beginnings in Denmark and the Netherlands to multiple countries adding GWs of capacity every year.
Finally, even with more and more markets adding offshore wind, the core will remain in China, the UK and Germany for the foreseeable future. That will be where the majority of the action takes place into the 2020s.
